Digitally Recreating the Sound and Vibe of Stax Studios
We've recreated the legendary "Tramp" breakbeat from Otis Redding and Carla Thomas, as recorded in 1967 at Stax Studios with Al Jackson Jr. on the drums. The breakbeat was sampled on classics by Wu-Tang Clan, Salt-N-Pepa, and in the 1994 hit film CB4, as well as modern tracks by Action Bronson and King Krule.
This course features Mix Engineer Cooper Anderson (Wu-Tang, John Legend, Future) in a series of four one-hour webinars demonstrating the mix process on our "Tramp" sample replay. Cooper demonstrates every step of the process of turning raw drum tracks into a finished sample replay, and takes questions from viewers.
There's a ton of amazing information in here.
